About Us

Volunteer Opportunites
Volunteers are the heart and soul of Habitat and we rely on your help in accomplishing our goal of ending substandard housing.

Volunteering at Habitat is not just for skilled carpenters. In fact, not only do we offer non-construction opportunities, but we welcome and encourage anyone who is willing to come out to site and help us build a home.

Construction Volunteer Opportunities
Want to work with a hammer? Join our construction crews! Construction volunteers are needed for site work 8:30 - 3:00 on Saturdays year round. Tools are usually available on site, but if you have some…bring them! Volunteers help build the entire house, from the foundation to the shingles on the roof. Both skilled and unskilled volunteers join us bright and early Saturday morning. By the end of the day, they have all had a great time and learned a new skill.

Individual
Both skilled and unskilled volunteers are welcomed. A skill assessment will be provided at the begining of the day. This will result in a task that you are comfortable with.

Crew Leader
This position would require basic building skills and the ability to lead a small group of 3-5 people in doing a certain task designated in advance by the Site Supervisor.

Site Supervisor
This position is for a person that has built for a long time, preferrably as a contractor or construction worker. This person would be very knowledgeable about most stages of building and would be able to work from a blueprint and delegate projects to the volunteers for the next stage of building. This person would not have had to build with Habitat before, but would be open to learning the style of houses we build from current site supervisors. This person would lastly have some management experience dealing with groups of 10 to 12 people.

Group Volunteering
Faith communities, corporations, trade associations, civic organizations and other groups are an integral part of Habitat construction. Working as a construction crew is a great way to build teamwork and spirit within your group while contributing to a family's and community's stability.
